SUPERSTARS CONCERT 1 Overview
Firstly, as always we must stress that the concert is ALWAYS OPTIONAL OPTIONAL OPTIONAL!
This concert is where every student at SUPERSTARS is invited to join us for a short concert where your children will do one dance performance and also a group song. The experience of performing in front of an audience on a big stage is something that won’t be forgotten!
As we have mentioned to some of you in person, there is no consequence for choosing to NOT do the concert, every child is treated as though they ARE performing during class time and we know in our records if we will expect you on the concert day or NOT.

This concert fee contributes towards the costs of running the concert, the hire of the space, the staffing etc. It includes the cost of care for your child backstage during the rehearsal AND the concert, the supply of accessories as well as a downloadable digital copy of the video recording of BOTH concert 1 and 2.
*THIS FEE IS NOT YOUR TICKETS TO WATCH THE CONCERT – You buy these separately closer to the concert.
THE PERFORMANCE OUTFIT: YOU WEAR THE SUPERSTARS UNIFORM!
This is what all STAR class students wear as their costume on the stage.
Every item you require (including shoes) can all be purchased AT SUPERSTARS. NO need to search!
*GIRLS & BOYS need a SUPERSTARS T-shirt $29.00
*GIRLS require the PINK SKIRT $49.00
*GIRLS require black bike pants under skirt $4.00
*BOYS wear their own plain black shorts (Good ones at Best n Less, Target or Kmart)
*GIRLS & BOYS wear black socks $4.00
*GIRLS & BOYS wear BLACK JAZZ SHOES $25-$68 – Lace Up or Slip On jazz shoes ($28 Second Hand – $68 Brand New) The performance shoe MUST be a black jazz shoe – no other shoes allowed. This is a non negotiable.
*We recommend getting these shoes ASAP so your child can get used to wearing them as they are a different feel to “normal” shoes”
.MAKEUP is NOT compulsory at SUPERSTARS. Makeup is always optional! You can use your own discretion with what you want to put on your child. A touch of blush and PINK lip gloss is amazing and mascara is always good for the eyes on stage – BUT NOT COMPULSORY!! BEST LIPSTICK: MAYBELLINE MATTE COLOURSTAY –‘Romantic’ is the best lipstick. It stays on the lips and does NOT come off! We have some for sale $15 cash.
TICKETS FOR THE CONCERT: The tickets for this concert don’t have a sale date YET, but We will give you plenty of notice around how to buy them and what date you will purchase them online.
Tickets for Adults are $35 and Children requiring a seat are $25. (The performer does not need a ticket)
NOTE: If you are bringing a child that will sit on your lap – you don’t need to pay for them, however seating is allocated so you need to buy the amount of seats you’d like to SIT on.
HOW THE REHEARSAL & CONCERT DAY IS SO SUCCESSFUL…..
At approx 9.45am on Saturday the 22nd of November all STAR students are dropped to the backstage door of The Chandler Theatre in the Sleeman Sports Complex to have a STAGE REHEARSAL in preparation for the CONCERT (which is immediately after this rehearsal). All students are to be in their full SUPERSTARS uniform as listed above please. For this rehearsal, you drop off your child to the allocated ‘Bay’ in the rehearsal room and leave immediately. (We will give you your ‘Bay’ number closer to the day). In this bay, looking after your child is at least 2 adults (over 18) and a student helper (over 14 years of age). We ask you to take your children to the toilet immediately before leaving home, however if they need to go, we have designated toilet helpers also. IF there is any doubt around your child’s toilet training, please wear a nappy however, we will NOT be able to facilitate regular nappy changes backstage.
Your child will be permitted to bring a designated allergy safe SNACK to eat between their rehearsal and the concert as well as have a SMALL water bottle.
We have NO parents backstage for the rehearsal and the concert, this is not negotiable. No allowances can be made for this.
The ‘Concert’ is at approx 11.30am on Saturday 22nd November. (Following on from the rehearsal) You will NOT see your child between the stage rehearsal and the concert. Doors to the theatre will open at approx 11am for guests to enter & find their seats & the concert will start at approx 11.30pm SHARP. At the end of the concert, you will walk back out of the theatre, and pick up your child from the ‘Bay’ where you dropped them off backstage for the rehearsal. YOU DO NOT COLLECT THEM DIRECTLY FROM THE STAGE

TIP FROM RACH: When you have read the above, if you have any doubt AT ALL about doing the concert – DO NOT DO IT. It’s not worth losing sleep over, it’s not worth questioning, and going back and forth about it. WE love you regardless, we love your child regardless and there are many more years ahead to do this again & again. We are here to make your kids feel good, but also YOU TOO!!! Go with your gut!
